Metro İstanbul which was formerly “İstanbul Ulaşım” is one of the most important company’s of İstanbul Municipality. Founded in 1988, company is serving millions everyday.

What was the need of Metro İstanbul?

Metro İstanbul has an important responsibility which is the transportation in İstanbul. They were targeting to have an in-house communication platform which will increase speed of communication and flow of information, this will also be useful to act faster in case of a industry crisis. In a metropolis like İstanbul when we are talking of transportation speed was everything.

What kind of a solution was developed by SIMTERNET?

For Metro İstanbul ready to use intranet portal developed on SharePoint 2013 infrastructure was used. And a customized design was developed. “Colorfulness” theme was used since it addressed all the employees.

Social Modules were used in order to increase in-house communication and synergy and Thank You module was added. SIMTERNET also developed basic work processes together with the application that enable users to track their tasks.

Result:

Remarkable speed increase of the communication of Metro İstanbul employees. Employees especially started using Social Modules very heavily. When daily use of intranet was increasing technical issues were minimized which allowed time savings on daily routines.
